This catalogue accompanied a group exhibition in 2020 of new works by Kim Bartelt, Laurence Leenaert and Tycjan Knut. The works explore the idea of paintings as objects and an interest in tactility and surface is evident throughout. The artists are unified via a shared emphasis on taking their painting into the third dimension, beyond colour and composition into structural and physical relationship, yet they represent three distinct approaches to abstract painting which can be seen in the studio shots featured throughout the catalogue.
