Juliette Paull: Echoes and hours | Hourglass
Current exhibition
Juliette Paull’s powerful abstract paintings explore touch, gesture, and the notion of the sublime through a visceral engagement with paint and surface. In this work, sweeping, layered brushstrokes create a sense of movement that feels instinctive and immersive, as though the image is caught mid-transformation. Warm, earthen tones collide with softer, atmospheric passages, suggesting a tension between force and fragility, emergence and dissolution.
The work reflects the cyclical nature of life and the constant states of becoming, where moments of intensity give way to calm, and chaos resolves into balance. Through its layered complexity and emotive palette, the painting evokes transformation, connection, and poetic resonance, offering a space for contemplation where the physical act of painting becomes inseparable from feeling, memory, and the sublime.
