Gabriele Cappelli. Twenty-Five (Milan)

Cadogan Gallery, December 3, 2025, to January 31, 2026

While we wait to see the works from the Venticique exhibition , on display at the Cadogan Gallery in Milan from December 3rd, let's discover the work of the Forlì-born artist, who will be exhibiting a series of new paintings inspired by some of his emblematic creations and significant themes explored throughout his career. Gabriele Cappelli was drawn to art from a young age. Frequent trips to Rome to visit his grandfather, an architect and designer , introduced him to painting, the cornerstone of his artistic practice. In 1997, at the age of twenty-five, he moved to London, where he decided to dedicate himself fully to his work as an artist, inspired by the Young British Artists (YBA) movement . It was during this phase that he became interested in painting as a research into chromatic composition, a way of creating colors that he experiments with, studies, and combines, creating new balances. In London, Cappelli developed his research, immersed in the cultural ferment of the 2000s and surrounded by significant encounters that shaped his career.

Represented by Cadogan Gallery for over ten years, Cappelli's works are included in numerous private collections worldwide. With this exhibition, which crowns 25 years of work, the artist presents a series of new works created specifically for the Milanese spaces, drawing inspiration from key works in his oeuvre, reinterpreting significant themes and inspirations.
