No Ruined Stones

This catalogue accompanies No Ruined Stones, a solo exhibition by Richard Hearns at Cadogan Gallery in 2026. In this new body of work, Hearns dives deep into the interplay between landscape, geologic time, prehistoric art, and human consciousness. Rooted in the physical act of painting, his canvases, scaled in relation to the artist's own body, combine instinctive gesture, carving charcoal lines, and accumulated layers of paint to record the rhythms and intensity of their making. Hearns extends his investigation of thresholds and the Burren’s limestone formations, framing landscape not as static scenery but as an enduring witness to time.
