Cadogan Gallery is delighted to present The Weight of Light, a new solo exhibition by Brazilian artist Theo Pinto. In this new body of work, Pinto explores painting as a spatial and perceptual experience rather than a static image. Built through layering, sanding and subtle shifts in colour, the works develop gradually over time, inviting a slower and more contemplative way of looking. Matte surfaces absorb reflection, allowing colour to function as depth and atmosphere, while delicate divisions across the surface create quiet shifts in perception. Influenced by architecture and transitional states of light such as dusk and dawn, Pinto’s paintings create immersive fields that balance stillness with subtle instability, encouraging viewers to spend time within the work rather than simply observe it.
